Community Action Award
May 17, 2012
Tonight my wife and I were invited to a Community event by the local Tompkins Community Action Organization.  It is a non-profit organization that provides services to low income and at-risk families.  I was awarded a plaque and certificate for my contribution to the County relative to their Victory Garden Project for low income families.  I got a plaque, bouquet of flowers, a certificate of appreciation signed by our senator, and free hor'deurves and wine.  I had to make a 2-minute acceptance speech, so I tried to throw the credit back to Fhaith where 95% of it belonged.  It was interesting to hear the stories about the recipients of the gardens and how much the project meant to their families.  It was a great night.
